Post-production adalah tempat film lo lahir. Rough cut hanyalah assembly; di post-production lo kasih jiwa, mood, dan polish.

Phase 1: Fine Cut Editing

Dari Rough Cut ke Fine Cut:

1. Trim tighter — setiap shot harus mulai dan berakhir di frame yang tepat
2. Pacing adjustment — percepat atau perlambat bagian tertentu
3. Transition refinement — pastikan transisi terasa smooth
4. Cut on action — potong di tengah gerakan untuk kontinuitas
5. Eyeline match — karakter melihat ke arah yang konsisten

Editing Principles:

• Less is more — shot yang lebih pendek biasanya lebih kuat
• Enter late, exit early — mulai shot setelah aksi mulai, potong sebelum selesai
• Rhythm — variasi shot length bikin editing terasa “musical”

AI-Specific Editing Tips:

• AI video sering punya “dead frames” di awal/akhir — trim
• Shot yang sedikit shaky bisa di-stabilize
• Speed ramping bisa bikin AI motion lebih natural

Phase 2: Color Correction

Color correction = memperbaiki masalah. Bikin semua shot punya exposure, white balance, dan contrast yang konsisten.

Correction Workflow:

1. Exposure — pastikan brightness konsisten antar shot
2. White balance — samakan color temperature
3. Contrast — tambah contrast untuk “pop”
4. Saturation — samakan intensity warna

Tools:

• DaVinci Resolve (free, professional) — industry standard untuk color
• CapCut — basic color adjustment, cukup untuk pemula
• Premiere Pro — Lumetri Color panel

Phase 3: Color Grading

Color grading = menciptakan look. Ini adalah “makeup” film lo.

Popular Color Grading Styles:

1. Teal & Orange (Blockbuster Look)

• Shadows: teal/blue
• Highlights: orange/warm
• Skin tones: natural orange
• Contrast: medium-high
• Pakai untuk: action, adventure, mainstream

2. Desaturated & Cool (Nordic/Drama)

• Overall desaturation 20-40%
• Cool temperature (blue shift)
• Low contrast, lifted blacks
• Pakai untuk: drama, thriller, melancholic

3. Warm & Golden (Nostalgic)

• Warm temperature (yellow/orange shift)
• Soft highlights, bloom effect
• Slightly desaturated greens
• Pakai untuk: romance, coming-of-age, flashback

4. High Contrast B&W (Art House)

• Full desaturation
• High contrast, crushed blacks
• Strong grain (optional)
• Pakai untuk: experimental, arthouse, intense drama

5. Cyberpunk (Neon Future)

• High saturation pada neon colors
• Teal/purple split toning
• Crushed blacks, high contrast
• Pakai untuk: sci-fi, cyberpunk, futuristic

LUTs (Look-Up Tables):

LUT = preset color grade yang bisa langsung diaplikasikan.

• DaVinci Resolve punya built-in LUTs
• Bisa download LUTs gratis/custom
• Atau bikin LUT sendiri dari reference film

Phase 4: Visual Polish

Untuk AI-Generated Footage:

1. Upscaling (Topaz Video AI)

   • AI footage sering di 1080p atau kurang
   • Upscale ke 4K untuk kualitas final
   • Topaz juga bisa sharpen dan denoise

2. Stabilization

   • DaVinci/FCPX punya stabilizer built-in
   • Jangan terlalu agresif — bisa bikin “jelly” effect

3. Grain Overlay

   • Tambah subtle film grain untuk mengurangi “AI look”
   • Bikin footage terasa lebih organik
   • 35mm grain preset di DaVinci

4. Vignette

   • Subtle darkening di pinggir frame
   • Fokus mata penonton ke tengah
   • Jangan terlalu obvious

Phase 5: Titles & Graphics

Title Design:

• Opening title: Font, animasi, timing
• Lower thirds: Nama karakter, lokasi
• End credits: Cast, crew, tools, thanks

Tools:

• DaVinci Resolve Fusion — built-in motion graphics
• Canva — simple, template-based
• After Effects — professional motion graphics

Title Tips:

• Font harus match tone film
• Jangan terlalu banyak text di screen
• Durasi title: 2-4 detik untuk lower third, 5-10 detik untuk opening title

• Test export 10 detik dulu sebelum full export
